Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) is a Minnesota program that helps individuals with disabilities and older adults receive the support they need to live independently in their homes and communities. CFSS promotes choice, flexibility, and self-direction by allowing participants to have greater control over how their services are delivered.
At Tranquil Care Services, we are entirely focused on providing CFSS Consultation Services. Our role is to educate, guide, and support participants, families, guardians, and representatives throughout the CFSS process.
Understanding Your CFSS Options
Agency Model
The Agency Model allows participants to receive services through a provider agency, which is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising workers. This may benefit individuals who would like assistance managing staffing and employer-related responsibilities while continuing to direct their services.
Budget Model
The Budget Model provides greater flexibility and control over how the approved CFSS budget is used. Participants work with a Financial Management Services (FMS) provider and take a more active role in directing services. This may benefit those who prefer increased flexibility and responsibility in managing their supports.
